Android Application – Swype : Review

The variety of Android OS on the market keeps reminding us of the convenience they bring with the regard of customizing our phones to our liking. Android Swype application allows for such customization through the replacement of the touch keyboard.

After installation the first thing the user will notice is the absence of any application icon in the app drawer of their device. This happens because the application is hidden within the OS, and in order to access Swype the user should enter the settings and navigate to “Locate” or “Language and Keyboard” settings (depending on the Adroid version the given device runs) and enable Swype in case it wasn’t enabled during installation.

The greater part of the settings are most self explanatory and easy to figure out, though the ones set as default work just fine for most of them. on urna eros.

Once the settings are reviewed and set, back out and turn to actually using the Swype. And here the user will have to take the last step required to get started with the Swype: to tap and hold on a text input box and select a choice from the “choose select input” option that will appear in a pop up window.

In case of multiple keyboard replacement applications the user can use the input selection menu to switch between the input methods.  And once the Swype is selected the keyboard will be closed and the user will have to wait a moment until the keyboard’s switching in the background. After it happens tapping in the text input field again will bring forth the Swype that will appear as a most ordinary basic keyboard.  The Swype button on the lower left brings up the Tips Menu to help the users to find their way round the Swype keyboard. This menu will grow gradually of less significance the more the user practices the Swype and learns how it works.

Yet, starting with the tutorial is of great help and can give a short and simple way to mastering this app. Thus, watching a ghost finger tracing out words and then trying out to “swipe” words on one’s own is of great help.

The more you use this app the more you’ll realize that it is not just a replacement for an on screen keyboard.

Besides this basic function the app can also recognize words written by a finger sliding across the keyboard and towards each letter of the word. The major fact about this application is that it works well and is pretty simple to both learn and use. .
